This breakout board is compatible with the Adafruit Feather series of development boards, supporting the Arduino development environment, making them very easy to work with.
The breakout board is designed to fit into the Adafruit Feather eco system, to easily integrate with the Adafruit Feather microcontrollers. As an example, we have designed an integration of our gateway software with the Adafruit Feather ESP-32 WiFi device. This allows you to do a low cost gateway design, which can easily bridge between the low power mesh network and an IP based network or your preferred Cloud solution.
The breakout board can also be used “stand-alone” i.e. without an Adafruit Feather base board. This allows you to easily interface the NeoMesh module with a sensor, actuator or a non-Feather based microcontroller. All-in-in all the NeoCortec breakout board allows for rapid prototyping and short time to market.
NeoCortec’s universal Half-miniPCIe card is an ideal solution allowing for very easy and cost-efficient Gateway designs, where an off the shelf Single Board Computer (SBC) or own processor platform is being used to run applications sending data in and out of the NeoMesh network. The Open source code available from the website can easily be compiled and will run on most low-cost SBC‘s running Linux.
The architecture is such that payload data being send from a node inside the NeoMesh network to the gateway node, will be delivered on the Outbound IP Socket in JSON format. Similarly, payload data being send from the IP network shall be send as a JSON formatted package to the inbound IP Socket.
This allows for a very versatile gateway design which can easily be adapted to interface with both Cloud services as well as local or remote proprietary servers.
The NeoCortec Evaluation Kit contains everything you need to get started evaluating the NeoMesh protocol. It includes 5 evaluation boards with NeoMesh modules mounted, and it comes with all the PC tools required to interface with the boards.
The Evaluation Board comes equipped with a communication module, a SMA RF connector, USB connector and pin headers for Arduino and Raspberry Pi, and battery compartment.
